Neutrik makes a female 5pin XLR incorporating an NC/NO switch. It¹s used on
later ETC Revolutions, Source Four LED, Desire, SmartPacks, and possibly
others.  Switches when a male shell is inserted into the female.  ³The
female body has ways of shutting that whole thing down;² sorry for the
