A whole lotta years ago (22 to be exact), my theatre here at Moo-U was one
of the three venues selected for the Presidential Debates pre-election
between Bush, Clinton, and What's-His-Face with the Ears... That's hosting
one sitting POTUS and two potential POTUSes, who at that stage of the
campaign were under the full Secret Service protection umbrella (which was
a helluva lot more covering than it apparently is now, but that's another
story). Thinking back on what the bill was like for that month, $100k for
an 18-minute speech sounds about right...

In May of 1995, President Clinton came back to MSU to receive an honorary
Doctorate Of Law, and to address the graduating class of '95 in Spartan
Stadium. The total bill for his address was around $528,000, according to
the Alumni Association's website.
