I know you're kidding, but since you asked :-) I was pretty careful not to leave any emails in limbo. I completed the move after the last digest went out on the old server, before any more single messages came through, so the digests should not be missing anything.

I left the old server running long enough to clear out any deliveries.

None of the above, yet. It was running on an old Xserve running MacOS X 10.6, after the prior even older Xserve running MacOS X 10.4 died in the past year or two. The old list server is still up and running in case I need any more data, but the list is not going through that server at all any more.

Now everything is running on much more modern hardware, running recent Red Hat Linux, clustered with VMware virtualization and enterprise storage arrays, so hardware failures are basically a thing of the past.

The servers are running in a highly redundant data center in Santa Clara (about 45 minutes south of San Francisco, CA, USA, without traffic), including two independent network connections and power feeds. I give tours if anyone is nearby or passing through and would like to see the facility and servers. There are gates and guards and half a dozen biometric access controls to go through, which many visitors envision as the opening of Get Smart. On the environmental side, the data center is LEED Platinum certified and powered by Silicon Valley Power, whose normal power generation includes at least 24% renewable sources.
