I think that gizmo is the carriage.
Carriage return is ASCII 0D hex = 076 octal = 13 decimal.
Oh, it;s an actual TYPEWRITER !
Carriage return is the lever which manually returns the carriage.
Just ask Leroy Anderson.
He knows what it sounds like.
