But the original question from Loren wasn't about protrusion from the
nut; it was about protrusion from the <i>nylon</i>, which is the means
of preventing rotation. And the answer to that question is: It doesn't
matter, as long as it protrudes.

If you wanna get hyper-anal-retentive, you'd worry more about the
torque applied to that nut, rather than the number of exposed threads.
