Hi Gang,
One of my former students, who graduated last year, asked for the
following guidance regarding looking for a touring job. Can anyone
(Dave, Kristi, Abby, June, and....) offer some advice I can pass
along?

"I recently just joined the local IATSE here in atlanta for film and
theatrical technicians so that I can land better projects but the
thought of going on tour has been nagging me for the past month. My
only problem is that I am not too sure where to look or apply to.
I am currently trying to get on as a stagehand at the Fox so that I
can be around touring shows and hope to network through there. I have
been searching around on websites such as offstagejobs and
playbill.com but most touring gigs want you to live in LA or New York.
If you have any knowledge of touring work, what do you think my best
bet is to do? Keep on applying around or is there a certain company I
need to look into. I am even wanting to get into concert, music
festival type touring as well."

Kat was one of my more well-rounded students who was willing to try
anything and did very well. Hard worker willing to put in the extra
hours.

Thanks, Scott
