results of test:

message sent from my sml account to another account = NOT echo'd back to self
   (that's a gmail setting  here, nothing to do with the List)

message returned to List = echo'd to my .sml inbox, included in this thread.

(if I had my gmail echo-to-self turned on, I'd get TWO copies, which
is why I turned it off in this account)
