When I first started in this business, circa 1958, an ME's "work box" was a leather electricians tool pouch.  In it was a C wrench , straight blade screwdriver, matte knife, needle nose and lineman 's pliers, roll of electrician's tape, square D voltage probe and a very rarely used Phillips screwdriver.  That was everything one could possibly need.  

Times have changed!
