Thanks for the suggestion. When they got to the "laser simulator" in their video, it really didn't show the beam well.  My old fixture was 500 watts, but it didn't have a reflector. So, very little of the bulb light output actually came through. I don't know how the brightness of the two fixtures would have compared.

I liked the total silence and compactness of the old fixture. Maybe I should try to recreate it.
