Just a note on the weight, but depending if the particular stage was
designed and built as a stage and was up to code, then it should
support a uniform load (and I'd say a pool is about as uniform as it
gets) of 125 or 150 psf depending on when and jurisdiction.  This
assumes in USA also - so roughly 2' deep should be fine.

Yale simply moved their production of the Frogs to the University
pool.  Solved one problem.
