Right; is the concern that the image be cropped, or are you trying to avoid
projecting "video black" (visible light which may be spilling in areas you
do not want)?  The software tools mentioned will let you crop and place the
image where/how you want, but you will still be projecting video black
(which I suspect is what you are trying to avoid.
