There is some truth to the "putz" label, but let me also state that I
have never met a sound guy/company that didn't think the last sound
guy was an idiot, and did everything wrong. :)

He's just a sales guy/installer, and I believe he copied and pasted
that quote from somewhere - it's not really his style. He basically
was just trying to steer me away from investing any more in Yamaha
gear (I'm sure he gets a better markup on the Soundcraft gear).

Here's how the whole pitch started: we want to get into "digital
snake" stage boxes, as our analogue inputs on stage (and limited
number in the pit) are in unfortunate positions. So we had always
intended to go with Yamaha gack to go with our Yamaha board.... so he
quoted a price for Yamaha gear to get us there, but also threw in the
bid on a whole new system, that would be cheaper than just adding to
the Yamaha gear. So that's why I asked about the quality of the Si
Performer 3 board.

I basically found his quote to be comical, at the least. Thought I'd
throw it up on the SML for others to chuckle.

And Andy - I actually had intended to send you that "quote"
personally... because I am curious about what kinds of kits you
are/were used to configuring. Thanks for your input!
