LIke the OP, we're moving into digital stage boxes, but also because
we need more inputs than we have copper spigots for.  We too have a
Yamaha LS9.

BUT.... we're moving to a Soundcraft Si Performer 3, plus two
16-channel stage boxes (MADI).... because of two reasons: moving to
the new platform was cheaper than getting into Dante, plus Rio boxes,
new network switch, etc, etc...  and the other reason is we feel the
LS9 has been very difficult to teach on.  Capable, yes, but to get the
most out of the LS9, you really needs to become a specialist.
