The snap together flooring is sometimes installed over a thin layer of
foam to provide some spring to the floor, but thin meaning less than a
quarter of an inch, usually closer to an eighth. Depending on the
thickness and squishyness of the carpeting, and the weight of the
dancers over the season, this probably will work okay for the summer.
The wood flooring will probably need to be scrapped in the fall.
