London- South Bank: Original Globe site, new Globe for architecture and
performance, Tate, old pubs and whore houses, Nat Theater, Eye, stroll
esp when festival. Thames boat ride. West End for historic theaters,
British Museum (esp things that the Brits "saved" from Greece and
Egypt), St. Paul's, old design Taxi ride (really best cab design ever).
If woman along, Harrods. Eat at pubs and foreign restaurants. Avoid
Brit franchises, they can't even do fish and chips right. I rented a car
in London and drove around city out into the Cotswold's and Wales and
back. Nerve racking esp with manual shift. You can request an
automatic for a higher fee.
Venice- Been there twice- wet and dry- dry is much better, but survived
a wet (8" in St. Marks). If women along, stay back and keep the credit
card handy. My wife is still nagging to go back and buy one more
thing. Not sexist, just reality.
