Here’s the thing. You “taking the view” that something is the case, doesn’t actually hold any legal weight. And of course, intellectual property laws vary geographically. It’s really hard to protect anything you post online, it’s true. And if you have anything that you absolutely don’t want copied or distributed without permission or payment, then you should absolutely avoid posting it online. But being fatalistic about the fact that  anything you post might get stolen is not the same as condoning such behavior.
