Lifting ("raising") capacity is entirely different from holding
capacity.  I frequently spec a stage lift to sustain 125 or 150 psf
(depends on code in the jurisdiction) but only powered to lift 50 psf.
That could vary if the lift were for a special purpose, like the only
load in point to stage level for a scissors lift or fork truck.  4800
pounds is a lot to lift for an 8 X 12 area:
