So I'm at an Embassy Suites here in Vegas.....unplug the turned off hairdryer from the GFI plug and the lights go off in the bathroom because the GFI popped when I pulled the plug.
Just thought you all might like to know it's not just in some remodeled hotel that this is a SOP  method of wiring.  I was not amused nor , thanks to SML, bewildered,  but did just open the door so I could see.
