No, that is the riving knife. If the safety was triggered, the blade would
not be visible - the blade drops below the surface of the table and is
captured by the brake. You'll want to read up on the operation of the saw
stop - know how and when to use the bypass mode, and make sure you have a
spare brake cartridge and blade on hand at all times. Triggering the
safety ruins the blade and the saw in inoperable until a new brake and
blade are installed.
