[SML] big "rigging" failure ?

"The foundation became detached from the underlying ground..." So the
structure didn't break so much as just tip over from the unending yank
from the haul cables going down the mountain. I'll be interested in
reading the investigation report on this. Foundation failures are
pretty uncommon in modern construction.
So, when a ski lift falls on the mountain, and there is nobody there to
hear it, does it make a noise?
