Well, up until this year, the panels are all rented or borrowed from 
various sources, and didn't come with keys if they were lockable.   Now 
that we are going to own them ourselves, I will be putting in some time 
to see about possibilities of locking them.

But I have evolved over the years a set of measures that works for me. 
One of the main ones is that if I am working on the inside of a peice of 
gear, I unplug it right where I am working.  More often, I just pull a 
spare and swap out the entire unit, then bring it back to my storage 
container to work on when I have the time later.

With a better standardized and modular power distro system, I don't have 
to work on potentially live gear out in random locations on the site.  I 
have also built up a collection of adapter cables and boxes to allow me 
to plug in various power plugs into my normal distro system.
