Another vote for Hell's Kitchen downtown (which, BTW, existed several years ahead of the dreadful TV show) https://www.hellskitcheninc.com/

The Local, also downtown, is also a great place for libations http://the-local.com/

Outside of downtown, Psycho Suzi's Motor Lounge & Tiki Bar is a can't miss!! Located in NE Minneapolis. http://www.psychosuzis.com/

Near the University of Minnesota is Surly Brewing's destination brewery, which is quite fabulous. http://surlybrewing.com/destination-brewery/

Of course, currently a must-stop is First Ave (nightclub catapulted to fame by Prince's film, "Purple Rain"); nightly shows in two venues (smaller venue is known as 7th Street Entry). Or stop by during the day to check out the memorial to Prince, if that's your thing.

The local "alternative" newspapers, City Pages and MinnPost has complete listings of theatre/arts offerings here: http://www.citypages.com/arts and https://www.minnpost.com/arts-culture

The local "mainstream" newspaper, the Mpls Star-Tribune does pretty good at reviewing theatre/arts offerings, too: http://www.startribune.com/variety/

Besides theatre, there are lots of great museums, including MIA (Mpls Institute of Art), The Swedish Institute, Museum of Russian Art, Science Museum of MN (in St. Paul)...

This is for the Minneapolis folks. I have a non-theatre friend attending a conference in
Minneapolis this week. Any recommendations for shows, events, restaurants?

Thanks
