Technical Director -Playhouse
 
 
The Grand, amulti-disciplinary, multi-venue performing arts presenter in Wilmington,Delaware is seeking an experienced, driven individual as Technical Director(TD). The Technical Director will supervise all production and technicaloperations for the 1240-seat Playhouse on Rodney Square, which houses theorganization’s Broadway series. The Playhouse TD reports to the Grand’s TechnicalDirector.
 
Thequalified applicant should be detail-oriented, flexible, pro-active, and ableto work well and communicate effectively with a larger integrated team. 3-5years of production management experience and familiarity with touring Broadwayin a union house essential. Solid computer skills with particular experience inMicrosoft Outlook and Excel are required. Must be willing and able to workevenings and weekends.
 
Primaryduties as follows:
·      Maintain the stage and all related technical equipment.
·      Oversee safety during all building occupancies.
·      Work with Local 284 to properly staff all Broadway and other bookedperformances.
·      Advance technical details with road management staff for all scheduled events.
·      Oversee stage work calls, load-ins, performances, strikes and load-outs.
·      Order any rental equipment and/or expendables necessary forperformances.
·      Co-ordinate with Hotel and City personnel to facilitate large loadin/out, truck parking, school busses for children’s shows, etc.
·      Work with Managing Director of Programming in estimating technicalcosts, assessing viability for prospective artist offers.
·      Work with GOH Director of Finance on preparing expenses for showsettlements, and to plan and maintain PH budget.
·      Work with the Director of Operations on production-related facilitymaintenance.
·      Provide assistance to Technical Director on non-Playhouse shows asneeded.
