I know that this doesn't fit the bill of "giant" and > 60W
but I just did a project for which my original spec. was
along the lines of what you're seeking. I was never able to
find bulbs that a) were > 60W, b) the larger size, and c)
fit my budget. I ended up with

pleasantly-surprised. I rarely ran them more than 40%-50%
and the filaments were actually more visible than
anticipated.even after a LOT of research. The only things
I'd change are a) to add more and b) to adjust the
arrangement further to decrease the visible patterns.

Subject: [SML] Mogul base (G39) lamp source
Hi all,
Does anyone have a favorite source for antique style giant
lamps (light bulbs)?
I'm looking for something like this, but with (preferably)
longer life, and higher than 60w (100W or higher would be
ideal).
http://www.lightsforalloccasions.com/p-6441-vintage-antique-
bulb-oversized-6-in-wide-x-85-in-60-watts-clear.aspx
Other shapes may be acceptable, but I am looking for large,
and interesting to look at.
The intention is to be able to run these at a level where
the audience can look at the filaments, without going blind,
but also have them provide enough light to see by.
TIA,
Ford Sellers
