If you're flying international, you're *really* going to want to pay
attention to how much the luggage itself weighs... The domestic "50
lb." weight limit goes metric and for many airlines, drops down to
~48.5 lbs. (22Kg)... One pound of weight in the suitcase frame is one
pound less of your own stuff you can pack. And I only see the domestic
airlines following suit in the years to come.
I'm sure there are lighter weight cases than the Torqs - I know Rimowa
has an airweight line where the 30" spinner weighs only 8 lbs. or so!
- but there's a compromise I feel you need to make between light case
weight and structural integrity.
