[SML] Saw stop

Working around my house in Bartlett NH.

Friend of mine showed up and asked if I needed to use a table saw.

I said no, pretty much got it covered with the Skil saw (yes, that brand of
hand-held).

He said "Well, let me just show you how easy it is to set this thing up".

He opened up the back of his car and pulled out...
a SawStop portable contractor's saw!

SawStop feature and relevant intellectual property management debate aside,
I was amazed at how well-thought-out and well-built this thing is.

Day or two later, I had pile of removed, unwanted 1/4 plywood paneling.
John suggested we cut them up for easy disposal.

About half a minute to pull the saw out of his car, set it up, and begin
cutting.

Ripped a couple of sheets, started on third, THUNK! [silence]

We looked at each other... "That fired, didn't it !"
Yup.
"Guess I owe you a brake".

Material was probably a little damp, AND had a little patch of
aluminum foil vapor barrier stuck to it...

I should have known better...
but it wasn't my idea to cut it, and not my saw.
We BOTH know better, and will remember better, now.

Very impressed with both the quality of the machine
and the effectiveness of the SawStop function.
