My understanding is that Masonite (and others) changed their manufacturing
process about 5-10 years ago and the new product is environmental much
friendlier. but the durability is less than desirable and makes it no
longer suitable for our industry

We unfortunately got the new/wrong product when we replaced our stage, tape
does peel the top layer, its bad, regardless of the number coats of paint

This is the main reason people are looking for new alternatives
