[SML] Expression 3 Problem

[uncloaking]
I just talked to someone on our repairs department to get a reminder on this. Depending on the age of the Expression 3 it either has a battery backup or a series of super capacitors. You will know by looking at the board.
See something that looks like a replaceable battery that is roughly quarter sized? That's the one to replace. We have them in stock available from a dealer if you can't find one locally.

If instead you see a series of capacitors (look like small silver pillars with black wrapping near the bottom center left of the processor board), these may just need to charge up. Leave the board on for about 24 hours and they should hold show memory for a week or longer.

Hope this helps

Greetings wise list,

I jumped in at the last minute to help out a group whose LD was called
away for a family emergency.

The venue has an older Expression 3. It works fine except it does not
hold the show when powered down. I can save to disc and reload from disc
but if you turn it off it loses the show. It is a simple show with only
20 Q's. I am going to try and write a Macro to make it easy for the
operator to load each night but I doubt if it will save the Macro.

All suggestions welcome.
