Tracy,

Here at the Alley Theatre, we have a PRS Alpha with a 5'x10' table. We have the spindle router (which is wonderful) because you can control the spindle speed & rotation. Also we have the 3 phase vacuum table which does a good job holding the piece down as we cut.

I have heard mixed reviews about the tool changer.
1- it takes up table space, so think about that depending on your table size
2- it can get sloppy in it holding (it's a magnetic holder)
3- if you're doing a lot of bit changes, it can speed things up (we typically only use 2 bits per file)

One thing I would like to say about router bits & the ShopBot, we don't buy CNC bits for our machine. We buy Onsrud or Whiteside bits & they cut great. We don't see the need to spend the extra on CNC bits. YMMV.

If you have any questions about the ShopBot feel free to contact me & I would be more than glad to help.
