think I answered my own question;
is this correct ?

France Old Phone

is different from US ring;

ring signal frequency is most likely 25Hz (US is 20 Hz),
the TeleQ can be adjusted to do this

note pattern in this attached .mp3 seems to be
a little over 1 sec ring, a little less than 1 sec pause, repeat;

you can play this .mp3 and train yourself to do the rhythm,

I pulled it into Audacity and looked at the waveform,
it's about 1.65 seconds ON, 1.25 seconds OFF, repeat,
for a cycle time about 2.90 seconds.

with the ring terminating when the actor takes the handset off-hook,
this pattern should  work well.

thanks
