yeah, the actual light-emitting-diodes are potentially very efficient
and with reasonable thermal management should have a very
long life,  but the electronics that takes in 120VAC and
puts out current-regulated DC at very low V,
not so efficient or reliable.

My electrician (licensed building elec, not stagecraft)
 recommended Econolite, said he's had good success with them in
installations.
