[SML] Using Xkeys or other programmable keyboard

I have an x-keys  XK-60 that I use with my Nomad dongle as a Cobalt lighting "programming wing". I'm very happy with it, works great.

I have been wondering if this really was a good device to have.  How has it worked out?  How often do you use the regular keyboard for things other than typing text.?
