Indeed, there seems to be much confusion between:
Focus tape
Hang tape / truss tape
Focus ground cloth
I would point to ControlBooth¹s glossary https://www.controlbooth.com/wiki/
for reasonably industry-accepted definitions.

In lieu of a full stage canvas ground cloth, 48² or 60² wide bogus
paper/rosin paper is a good idea, but might not work under electrics even at
low +4¹-0² trim for units pointing US-DS.  Perhaps laying the paper much
like one does a Marley floor, but with registration marks insuring that
sheets always align the same?  OR, what about Tyvec house wrap? Readily
available, quite durable, and 9¹ wide to boot.
