Assuming its a soft pouch, it is very simple to silence a ringing phone by
giving the pouch a quick squeeze with your thumb or finger over the ringer
volume buttons, which in most cases silences the ringer. The other option
is to remind patrons to set their phones on silent mode before pouching
their phones, which should be a simple matter.

How do you track cases for retrieval after the event?

Y'wanna use your phone again unencumbered? You return the pouch. Generally
speaking, if you're a venue you hat-check them; serialize them and key the
pouch number to the seat number. Seriously, same principle as a coat-check
or hat-check, which have worked just fine in theatres for decades.

We don't worry about you; you're not the problem.

IF, on the other paw, you claim you don't carry a phone and are later found
to be carrying and/or using an unpouched phone, you are summarily ejected
from the performance, no appeals honored. Three or more ejections and
you're barred for life. That'll teach you to lie about it.
