For those fixtures, consider buying the led colorchanging versions of source 4s and invest in a gaffers stick.   Then you only need to put the ladder up there if they are putting up gobos or something oddball.  Plus an annual maintainace event.

That is pretty much what I am using right now. But we do not have enough
dimmers to add any more instruments, nor the circuits to plug in portable
packs.

Because of the lack of instruments/circuits, a fair share of the lights need
to be rehung and/or refocused for every production.
