You could go old fashioned a do a 1x batten on the top and bottom edges.  Overlapping 1x3 or 4  and round the outside edges of each face so you could roll it loosely on the batten for storage. Any of the older stagecraft books will have detailed instructions.

We have just recently aquired a large projection surface - 20' x 40',
but it just "screen material" without webbing or any grommets. I'd
like to find a way to alter it so it can be hung effectively. Has
anyone ever had webbing added, or done it themselves? Or is there
perhaps another method I'm not thinking of?
