Nothing clear but it seems to be talking set ups for speakers, panels, temporary set ups etc…..think events, concerts etc. City is talking IBC codes etc although they offered no links to which sections. They want plans and support data in advance. We are awaiting clarification by Cornell to make sure we do not have to be bothered with “scenery”. I already do most of this for big events I work on but never anywhere for scenery except for a sometimes discussion about railings at the back of temporary stages. Any of you running into more of this? or know which section of codes might apply or which sections exempt theatrical scenery? I must say that when working on large events most places have no one able to figure out what we are doing anyway …….think lots of hanging truss work. Even our Cornell building engineers have stopped allowing bridles in one of our buildings….yes it side loads the beams but maybe they don’t want to figure it out.
