What if, hypothetically, one were to put explosives under something shaped like a paraboloid?would it launch it in any appreciable way? Small scale Project Orion?

Well...... if you remember, my statement specifically stated, a projectile in an enclosed tube/cylinder/barrel.  A paraboloid is not a tube nor is it enclosed.
