I second the suggestion to try “AndFTP”. I use it when I’m away from my Mac. It handles FTP, SFTP, SCP, and FTPS. Not all clients can do all that. It has worked well for me on two phones, two tablets, and a Chromebook (with the Android Playstore installed).
