Sounds like a good argument to get a set of monitors for the lobby. Message could loop as audience enters/gathers.

Subject: [SML] Preshow announcement

I just received this from administration:

"We are thinking a video to show/explain where the fire exits are, the AED etc.
It could automatically be played at the start of each event in the PAC, prior to the welcome for the administrator.”

They would like it played prior to every event in our 1300 seat high school performing arts center, including outside rentals. I am curious is anyone else doing something like this in their venue.

While a good idea in theory, we charge outside clients for use of the projector. Not all productions have the screen accessible. Sometimes the production uses the projectors for scenic projection and are not focused at a true projection surface. The main screen takes 41 seconds to extend or retract. 41 seconds prior to a production can seem like an eternity. Will it be required prior to all meetings with 50 people in the house? What counts as an event? I am just seeing some logistic issues that they obviously have not considered.

Any thoughts would be appreciated either onlist or PM. Thank you for your input
