Ok. Maybe not quite the forum for this particular reply, but, I feel it's important.
After having had a stroke in 2004 I learned a few things.
You usually see the most improvement in the first two months. But, you can improve for even up to two years afterwards. It is important to work! to get better. Music is one of the best ways I have found for a LOT of people. Move and sing and talk to music, it helps the brain rewire past new bounderies set by damaged areas. If your friend or loved one gets discouraged HELP them move forward with any kind of cajoling, bribing or pushing that you can.
Now, everyone is different and will see different results. I was EXTREMELY lucky in my recovery.

Please use caution: This email was generated outside of HCC.

Y'all may remember Cris Dopher who was a long time list member, then had an accident while riding with the Long Reach Long Riders a few years ago. He made a full recovery from that motorcycle accident but had a nasty reaction to chemo and is in the ICU in NYC - not doing well at all. So please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

On a happier note, Jeff Salzberg is in a rehab facility in Boston recovering from a stroke and doing much better.

Be safe.

Love, MOM
