[SML] Thin knee pads?

There are kneepads for motorcycle and other sport uses made of a material called D30; it's similar to neoprene or silicone as best as I can tell, and designed for impact absorption.  It's fairly thin for what it does.  The link below is for a pair of sailing knee pads made from the stuff and they seem relatively low profile.
