[SML] 1/4" tempered hardboard

Duncan, my digest garbled your post so that every dimension of MDF was ?" rather than a number.  Were you saying 1/4" and 1/2" but you preferred 1/2" so you could use screws?  For a point of reference, how many performances are the runs at South Coast Rep (Jon Lagerquist) or at USCDA? Do you notice any degradation over time?
