[SML] Procurement need for exterior case

If this is for a PA system setup consider components that are pole mountable and exterior rated like those from Technomad. They can integrate wireless receivers into the amp modules and there are additional j boxes for controls and interconnection.

If you still need a rack format, look at Middle Atlantic brand and consider external antennas for devices needing rf.

That's a pretty big box for a pole mount. I've only used ones that were
substantially smaller. I think the place to start is with the city
electrical department or local utility that owns the pole. They will
have quite firm ideas on what is acceptable to be attached to their
pole. Weight, size, wind and snow loading play into this.

Also you will likely have to pay some kind of lease fee, and if you need
power, pay for that too. You will also have to have some form of
emergency contact list and 7x24 response plan for things like vandalism
or a truck encountering the pole at high speed.

There are local electrical and building codes that may also apply,
and they are a whole different regulatory world.

Dale

Consider that Cell Service antennas are often mounted on the face of
buildings near the top. Others are concealed in fake palm (or other) trees.
There is no reason to reinvent the wheel,

Ok, let me give a bit more detail, I need to put in a power conditioner, two 3 ru space amplifiers, and the wireless mic receiver. It does need to be vented to a degree, it is going on a pole for a college ball field, where the speakers are on the opposite side from the announcer?s booth. The college doesn?t want to dig to get a signal line around the field and they?ll be darned if they would touch the field to go through it and I don?t blame them due to cost of the field.

Dear Jeffrey,
Have you considered to send the signal by microwave? The dishes are weather
resistant. Also, a single 1000' roll of Cat 6 STP would be enough to get
all the way AROUND the perimeter of the field from the audio source to the
amplifiers driving the speakers.
