[SML] Stage floor paint

Sounds like this conversation happened already but I have not had this problem with Masonite. Is this a regional issue? I am in New England and can get single-temper 1/4 and 3/16 readily. The double temper takes some special ordering.

Rosco Tough Prime has been my go to floor paint for years. Bigger problem is not being able to get 'real' masonite any longer - when you order it from the lumber yard, what shows up is really MDF - and it just doesn't hold up like masonite did, especially when you peel up the gaff and spike tape.

Anyone found a solution to this yet?

I now just use Rosco Tough Prime. I like the satin finish. it cleans better than flat finishes.

And the admin staff like it for outside events.

We'd been using Conco Black from Menards for 20 years. But they stopped carrying it and we just started using Pittsburg Paints 'Ultra' interior flat black.
I like the look better; it's more 'black' and covered well. As other have said, stage is painted enough that durability isn't an issue. But this is looking good so far.

Just for another data point, we use Benjamin Moore semi-gloss black latex. It gets recoated often enough that durability of the paint has never been a problem.
