One of the regional companies I freelance for still has a pile of Wenger Type C Showmaster.  I have made a it a condition on my gigs that I don't touch the stuff.  I had enough when I was much younger.  That said, gotta give it credit for durability, and Wenger is still making parts for it.  It also weeds out the weak. ;-)
