Using a pipe or stick to twist the lines can also stretch the operating lines, this can then cause the tension block to drop and sit on the bottom stop and basically become useless

Also Please do not use a hockey stick, I have seen/repaired 2 arbours that ran away because the hockey stick broke (same venue, bad practices), if you must do a twist, use a pipe
