Remove the asbestos cords and dispose of as per the local regulations. Recycle the metal. Don’t just trash them.
New things (the Source 4s) might find a happy home at a local school or house or worship.

At Cornell U, in 2005 or 6, when we replaced our older (1980s I’m guessing) lekos (6x9, 6x12, 6x16, & 6x22) with Source4s, we tried selling off the old ones through a reseller… I don’t recommend it, unless they agree to come and pick up all of the units, and sell from their own warehouse (unlikely). -Ford From: Stagecraft <stagecraft-bounces at theatrical.net> On Behalf Of Ross via Stagecraft

Subject: [SML] Selling things In one of the theatres I work, the boss is starting to clean house on stuff we no longer need or want. We have some convential lighting instuments that need to find a new home. I know that we can part with some par 56. Maybe some older lights (kligles, that came with asbesto power cords, to give you an idea of age). Is their a market for this stuff? Do I dare trust any online used gear sites Awhile back I started looking into what it takes to convert a convential par can into a DMX capable one. Has anyone done this & is it worth it.
