Nothing gives 100% protection - and the vaccine was created to work against the original version of COVID-19,  not the Delta or Omicron ones, so the fact it provides any protectaion against those at all is a happy coincidence.

Yep... I'm Down With The Sickness. Good old-fashioned Delta variant,
probably infected by some tweaker onboard one of my bus runs this past
week.
