Holy crap.  That was thinking outside the box on steroids.

Taking the Palace Theatre at Times Square.  Lift the entire building 30 
feet up, and construct new space underneath.    I hadn't heard about 
this before.  They just completed the lifting last month, construction 
continues.

Wow.
